Golden Circle - Strokkur Geysir

Wait for it....! Part of the experience of visiting Geysir is the excitement and anticipation of when it will next erupt. Stokkur Geysir is Iceland's largest Geysir. It erupts at intervals varying between 5 minutes to 15 minutes, though this changes all the time. I have visited many times over the years and one of the best ways to know when it will erupt next is to listen to the subtle sounds it makes. This sound is very difficult to record because we cannot get any closer to it and usually the sound and chattering of tourists is so loud that it's impossible to capture. During the pandemic, while borders were shut, I was finally able to capture the eruptions quiety at sunrise, with only a handful of keen photographers there.
